Oak leaves are wider, denser, and stiffer than birch leaves, so the experience of steaming with an oak whisk is different, but no less pleasant. The oak whisks sold in our store are tied in a “spatula” shape, with all the leaves arranged in approximately the same plane, which allows for excellent steam generation. Many professional sauna attendants use oak whisks in their work.
Oak whisks are very durable; even active sauna attendants can use them for 3-4 steam baths.
Oak leaves contain essential oils and tannins, which are actively released under high temperatures and hot water, greatly enhancing the healing effects of the steam.
